In 2017, investors all over the world invested $279.8 billion in renewable energy (excluding large hydropower plants), of which $160.8 billion was invested in solar energy. Solar energy set a record for growth in 2017 and added 38% to the new installed capacity in 2016. The global energy revolution is now in full swing. "We are in the middle of the global revolution in the field of renewable energy sources (RES). Investments in RES continue to grow, mainly in developing countries, and since 2004 the whole world has invested $2.9 trillions in clean energy sources.
